EXCAVATION, TRANSPORT AND DISPOSAL OF CONTAMINATED SOIL

The classification, handling and disposal of contaminated soils is best left to specialists. Whist many civil companies and earthworks contractors offer these services as additional services, the risk of unlawful or improper practice is heightened when carried out by contractors that do not have the adequate experience or expertise in this area.

Did you know that as the owner or generator of the contaminated waste you are liable for the actions of your contractor and the lawful handling and disposal of the waste? Did you know that the redirection or misclassification of waste carries directors personal liabilities?

Macquarie have seen the impact caused to corporations by civil contractors with limited remediation experience in the past, and while blending, recycling, and re-use is common practice in earthmoving, these practices with contaminated soils are putting you and your company at risk.

Macquarie offer highly competitive soil disposal options for all classes of soils. If you want the best rates, and the job done right, contact us today

The team at Macquarie Environmental Projects Pty Ltd have a thorough understanding of waste management and resource recovery framework that encompasses the Protection of the Environment Act 1997 (POEO Act), the waste avoidance and resource recovery Act 2001, and the Protection of the Environment Operation (Waste) Regulation 2005, which outline the requirements for the management, storing, transportation, processing, recovering and disposal of waste.

Contaminated soils are a waste, and cannot be reclassified as suitable for recycling or off site re-use, and at Macquarie we are here to help you deliver your projects ethically, and compliantly.

Macquarie’s exclusive ‘MACQTRAK’ software application provides real-time and transparent waste tracking and reporting framework.

The waste volumes excavated from your site are captured and recorded including the onsite storage areas or stockpile locations. As these stockpiles are loaded for transport and disposal each truck registration number is captured using number plate recognition cameras on the entry and exit of the site recording the time in, time out, registration details and the waste classification and destination of the load. This is then reconciled with the weighbridge reports to ensure every load reaches the nominated destination.

As well as waste tracking, The MACQTRAK software is site management tool that captures all site activities from Toolbox Meetings, sign in and out registers, incidents and photos are all captured and recorded using the software. Each client have personalised parameters for notifications, which are set based on your milestone requirements. You can view every toolbox meeting, sign in and out registers, incident reports, vehicle movements, waste tracking volumes, excavation efficiencies and incidents, with the information emailed directly to your inbox as frequently or infrequently as you require, or for nominated events such as incidents only. This innovative technology is the first of its kind to the industry puts you on the site without having to leave your office.
